The University of Illinois participated in the 2001, 2003, and 2005 International Future Energy Challenge competitions, with increasing success. At this time, a team is completing some of the open tasks from the 2005 competition. When the 2007 competition is announced, this will be the nucleus of our team entry. Interested students should contact Jonathan Kimball for more details on participation.
The UIUC College of Engineering is also assembling a team to enter the Solar Decathlon. The team is being led by Prof. Ty Newell. The electrical portion of the team is being led by Prof. Patrick Chapman.
